Dr Daniel May has been formally appointed as new Chief Executive Officer of IT Without Borders. Daniel has extensive experience in business and management consulting, non-profit organizations and entrepreneurial start-ups.

“IT Without Borders is an exciting idea that has engaged volunteers, sponsors, supporters and people generally. Being able to connect skilled volunteers around the world to Christian aid workers serving the world’s needs is a powerful concept,” Daniel said.

“It’s been a busy year for IT Without Borders: completing a pilot IT support project, and a trip to India. Our challenge is to create an operation that can grow and scale, and continue working on an ongoing basis. Someone helping someone else is easy. An organisation helping many peoples is the goal.”

Daniel takes over from Sam Coates, previous CEO, who established IT Without Borders’ operating infrastructure and oversaw the successful completion of its pilot of a global IT support service desk. Sam is completing a teaching degree and will be moving to a new career.

IT Without Borders Chairman Andrew Harrisson said that he was excited about the appointment.

“As IT Without Borders moves into a new phase of building a sustainable organisation, we’re excited to have Daniel oversee us through these challenges. We’re particularly interested in leveraging his background in business and startups. Sam’s work has been invaluable in laying our foundation and we’ll miss his contribution. We’re wishing him all the best with his teaching career.”
